Frequently Asked Questions

  • No. Virginia allows direct access to physical therapy, meaning you can schedule an evaluation at our clinic without a physician referral. This lets you start care faster and avoid unnecessary delays.

  • Alchemy Sports Rehab is an out-of-network cash-based physical therapy clinic in Roanoke, VA. We do not participate directly with insurance, which allows us to provide longer visits, fully personalized care, and advanced movement assessments. We provide detailed superbills so you can submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement if your plan allows. We also accept HSA/FSA payments.

  • Being a cash based, out of network clinic allows us to put your care first instead of insurance rules. We are able to spend more time with you, create treatment plans based on your goals, and continue care as long as it is helping you improve, not as long as an insurance company allows.

  • Our approach blends advanced movement analysis, strength and performance training, manual therapy when needed, education, and long term injury prevention. We focus on why pain happens, not just treating symptoms. Our goal is to build strong, resilient bodies that stay active for life.

  • Because every person and every goal is different, pricing depends on the type of care you are looking for and the plan we create together. We recommend scheduling a consultation so we can understand your needs and explore the options that make the most sense for you.

  • We do not have dedicated on site parking, but street parking is available on Church Ave. There are also several pay to park lots nearby, including the Market Street Garage and the Church Ave Garage, both within easy walking distance.

  • The number of visits you need depends on your goals, your starting point, and how your body responds to treatment. Some people see meaningful improvements in just a few sessions, while others choose ongoing care for long term progress. We work with you to create a plan that makes sense for you and adjust it as you improve.

  • No, you do not need to be in pain or have an injury to benefit from physical therapy. Many people work with us to improve strength, mobility, and sports performance, or to prevent future injuries before they happen. We can create a treatment plan for anyone!
